Une LMMA est d\u00e9finie comme \u00ab une zone principalement marine et\/ou c\u00f4ti\u00e8re qui est g\u00e9r\u00e9e au niveau local par des communaut\u00e9s c\u00f4ti\u00e8res, des propri\u00e9taires fonciers et\/ou des repr\u00e9sentants locaux du gouvernement qui r\u00e9sident ou sont bas\u00e9s dans la zone en question \u00bb. Aujourd\u2019hui, il est estim\u00e9 que plus de 17.000 km2 de c\u00f4tes de Madagascar sont sous gestion locale \u00e0 travers les LMMA.<\/p>\n<p>En mars 2017, un atelier sur le suivi pour la gestion adaptative des LMMA \u00e0 Madagascar regroupant les diff\u00e9rentes parties prenantes fut organis\u00e9 par le r\u00e9seau MIHARI en collaboration avec WCS. Une quarantaine d\u2019indicateurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9s et class\u00e9s en cinq grands th\u00e9matiques : bien-\u00eatre, production halieutique, gestion de la p\u00eache, suivi \u00e9cologique\/biologique et gouvernance. La plus importante pour les communaut\u00e9s est l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de leur bien-\u00eatre.<\/p>\n<p>Afin de poursuivre les discussions entam\u00e9es lors de cet atelier, le r\u00e9seau MIHARI organise un deuxi\u00e8me atelier le 5 et 6 d\u00e9cembre 2019 \u00e0 Antananarivo, en collaboration avec WCS.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019objectif de cet atelier est de mettre en place un syst\u00e8me de suivi de la performance des LMMA, en tenant compte des exp\u00e9riences des diff\u00e9rentes parties prenantes (les communaut\u00e9s locales, les promoteurs, l\u2019administration, les institutions de recherche, etc.). A l\u2019issue de cet atelier, un manuel de suivi de la performance des LMMA \u00e0 Madagascar sera \u00e9labor\u00e9.
