More than 100 LMMA managers from communities around Madagascar, along with representatives of their supporting NGOs and relevant Government officials, will gather in Mananara on Madagascar's remote northeast coast next month in order to share experiences, successes and challenges in relation to local marine management efforts.
The forum will be hosted by LMMA communities in the Bay d'Antongil supported by WCS, and will include two visitors travelling from Fiji to contribute learning from the Indo-Pacific LMMA Network as well as a representative of the Madagascar PHE Network. The agenda over five days (October 12th-16th) encompasses field visits as well as presentations by various network members, discussions about Madagascar's LMMA legal texts and MIHARI's strategy moving forward.
